Market Pulse
2019 gave the market 15% more to cheer with 10,104 units shifted in 2019, more than the 8,795 transacted in 2018. Mr Lee Sze Teck, Huttons Asia Research Director, said: “This is unsurprising as the bulk of the demand will come from HDB upgraders. With the HDB resale market bottoming out in 2019, this segment of buyers will likely bolster the buying volume in 2020.”
Sales volume in December though was expectedly lower due to the festive season and lack of new launches. Nevertheless, the coming months are going to be exciting as there could be up to 50 launches and 11,000 new units put on the market this year. Analysts forecast sales volume at a similar level of between 9,000 and 10,000 units!
CapitaLand won the tender to manage Bugis Village and Bugis Street for up to a decade as well, that should be good news for those who use CapitaStar.
